trying to confirm model year

I have a 25hp Mercury outboard - 2 stroke, two cylinder
serial# 945 0208

i have tried to use several sites to identify the year of the motor, but have not been able to get two answers that are the same.

Name Plate reads:
Serial # 945 0208
Marine Power Europe Inc.
made in Belgium
