Merc XR6 Oil Injection

I trashed my motor apparently from lack of lube, would a loose cap on my reserve oil tank be the cause? Injector pump drive is good and warning system works as it should. Oil tank on engine is/was full. Recently checked pump as outlined in manual and that checked out fine also.

If the oil tank on the engine was full then the failure was probably caused by the pump it`s self. You should have had a warning , (intermitant beeping) though first as there is a pump rotation sensor also.

Well, after rereading your post it sems you checked that also, was there any oil leakage anywhere you could see, like from the pump to the fuel line. Otherwise there must have been a blockage, or the linkage may have come lose from the pump.
