  • 2009 20hp 4 Stroke Tiller to Remote Steering/Controls

I have a 2009 20hp Merc 4-stroke Tiller engine with electric start and powered tilt/trim. I am looking switch over from the tiller steering and controls to remote steering/controls without having to get a new engine =/. After speaking to a few local boat mechanics (who were less than willing to give up any trade secrets or info) I have ended up a with a few different part numbers for the remote controls and the steering attachment kits. Anyone who can give me a list of parts numbers and anything else I might need to do this conversion would be greatly appreciated. =) I am looking to do the whole shabang steering system, throttle w/tilt, etc... everything except making a key'd ingition. The electric start already on the engine will work just fine for what I need. Just wana get rid of that dang tiller!

    Thanks for any help!

One more question ... is the steering bracket taking the place of the tiller part of the remote conversion kit?

          Tiller to to remote...

I'm interested in doing the same thing. Will I have to add remote tilt and trim if I want to convert from tiller steering and throttle? Also, I'm having trouble using the links posted for Blindside to get info on the parts...Am I doing something wrong?
