Can some one from the good idea club of Mercury Parts give me a good reason why the Voltage Regulator/Rectifier on my 2005 90HP Four Stroke is no longer available. Then give me an even better explaination of why the replacement for this part cost three times what it should. Now a 4 year old voltage regulator goes out, it seems to me that it was falty in the first place and there should have been a product recall. The original MSRP for part number 804278T11 was $141.00. The MSRP for that replacement is $360.00.
#1 This is a faulty part or you would not have an upgrade for it and there for should be a product recall and cost me nothing.
#2 You get right with pricing of other Rectifier/regulator's which average from between $25 and $95. Your $360 price for a Votage Regulator/Rectifier is nothing more than price gouging.
If the problem doesn't get fixed within the next few weeks the BBB will be notified.
