i just purchased a 2006 15 hp 4 stroke SN 1B502287. Remote control model. It will be going on a homemade aluminum "Poor Richard". This is a 24 ft 3000 lb displacement hull so I am after economy, not speed. What prop would you suggest? Also what control box would be best? Motor has an 8 pin connector. I don't need tilt or trim feature. Thanks.

In order to get best prop you would need to check rpm's with a tachometer at wide open throttle and try different pitch props to find one that will run on higher side of operating range which is 5000-6000 rpm's on that motor, on a boat that size and weight probably need smallest pitch prop can find. Without a tach it just be a guess on which seems to perform the best.
Can use 881170A3 side mount control with no trim switch, key switch and 15ft 8 pin harness, need to use Gen I control cables with this box.Last edited by boats.net; 12-04-2017, 05:18 PM.Regards
