Connector Assembly Missing

I was changing the impeller on my newly acquired Mercury 135 (1997) and noticed that the hose coming from the powerhead was missing. The one next to shift shaft. The part # is 8522A10. The diagram shows where it is on the lower unit but I cant find it on the top side in the drawings. It is completely missing on my motor... Please help !! Motor seems to run ok without it...Motor ser# is 0G584299

It is the speedometer tubing, if don't have a speedometer the tubing is not needed.
