I have a 1984 60 HP Mercury ELPT with power Trim / Tilt. I had it on the lake last week and as I was taking the boat out of the water, the trim would not go up. The motor works, and I noticed oil/fluid spitting out from where the valve attaches to the bottom of the pump/reservoir. I did a bit of searching and it looked like it was the o rings leaking. Mine has a locking control valve and uses 4 hydraulic lines. I purchased a complete used unit to use for parts this unit did not have a control valve and only uses 2 lines) and swapped out the orings (for the top side, as my unit has a reverse locking control valve so it takes 8 o rings instead of 2 for a 2 line unit like the one I purchased.) It is still leaking.
I have just ordered a complete set of o rings for both sides of the metal plate that goes between the valve and the pump. I do not think it is the o rings, though. The oil squirts from a little hole opposite the control valve. you can see it clearly in the videos.
I found an old post on iboats forum that had some awesome videos of the exact issue I am having. unfortunately it looks like this was never resolved.
If anyone else had or has this issue and has resolved it please reply to my post.
