1960's fuel pump????

does anyone know how much fuel pressure the carb's require and if i might be able to completly get around rebuilding a diaphram pump mabee by using a low pressure 12v electric fuel pump. would this eaven be possible or would i be wasting my time any help would be great

Should be able to repair diaphram pump cheaper than an elect.
