  • Picking a prop

I want to change to a SS prop. I also want to change the pitch to get more top end speed out of the motor. The prop now has 12a 9P on it. A few friends say to change to a 12 or 13 pitch, but the diameter gets bigger to 10 1/4" and I don't want the prop to hit the bottom of the cavitation plate. Also, has anyone every addes a tach and if so which tach and how?

    Thanks

    Geoff

Don't know what motor you have or how many rpm's your prop is turning but may be able to go up a pitch size as long it will stay in rpm operating range. If you get a prop for your model motor then prop shouldn't hit cavitation plate.
