Hi y'all I'm replacing the carrier assembly on a 60 hp 4 stroke 4 cylinder. I've got the reverse gear and bearing pressed in. The new carrier came with the needle bearing allready in it, which is standard I'm assuming. Is the prop shaft supposed to slide right in, mine stops with about 1 1/2 inches still between the reverse gear and the reverse clutch. I was able to get it to seat with a rubber mallet but the prop shaft is extremely difficult to turn by hand. Is it supposed to be hard to turn or could the needle bearing be wrong? Seems that's where the shaft isn't sliding in easily...
