Thumb screw washer - paint?

I recently purchased some 12-73719 thumb screw washers for a 1998 8HP.
They are definitely steel (magnetic). Should I paint them? Are they galvanized? What paint should I use?

I would first spray them with zinc chromate primer, then paint them what ever color you want to.
