Lift pump for Mercruiser 4.3 MPI

I have removed a 470 and am repowering with a 4.3 litre MPI 220 HP 2004 model.
I have been told that a fuel lift pump may be required. (None was needed with the 470.)

Would you please advise.

You probably don't need it. If your having problems with vapor locking of fuel starvation then I would look into one. Keep in mind you'll need to install a Inline filter if you install one. I would also prime the fuel system prior to starting it. I think there is a service bulletin on that.
