I own a 25 elh mercury 2000, I am about to install a new kit822148a.4 along with parts 25,26,27,28,and 29. I believe I'll have to pull the wires out and re-insert them into the new parts. Do any of you have suggestions or precautions?

My answer to anyone with this problem
I managed to complete this job . The hard part was putting it back together after I had installed all of the new parts into the tiller handle. I had to move the parts, not the screw driver. working was slow, and i needed helping hands in the completion. You can do it, but be sure you get the right parts.
