1994 Mercury Tracker 40hp Thermostat Location

Does a 1994 Tracker (4 cylinder 2 cycle) 40hp have a thermostat?
I tried to locate it. I even removed the housing for the switch box and coils
but could not locate the thermostat.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know that my 1993 does not have one. It's the biggest motor I ever saw without one.
post your serial number and I can tell yours does or not.
