    Hi,
    1993 50HP ELPTO
    serial 0D250899
    2-stroke 3-cylinder oil-injected carbureted
I'm new to this motor. It came to me with a compromised fuel pump diaphragm. After rebuilding the pump and replacing the fuel filter, the engine ran great for about 2 minutes. Now it acts like it is running on 2 cylinders. At WOT the engine putts along at 3000rpm or so. When I spray starting fluid in the top carb, it takes off and runs as it should if I keep spraying. Seems to me that the top carb got a piece of trash stuck in the jet or something like that. Do I need to pull the carb and dip it, or is there an easier solution?
    Thanks a bunch.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I use to have this exact motor. I would take the carbs off and clean all 3, just be sure you don't get them out of sync or else you will need to re-sync. IMHO, I would get rid of the oil tank and just pre-mix my gas and oil in my gas tank. My oil pump stopped pumping one day and my engine made no sound until it locked up. That wasn't cheap. Also, if you got this engine use, then I would also replace the water pump. It's not hard to do.
