Alarm Sequence

I have an 04 225 Saltwater Outboard on a Triton 220 LS. Yesterday on the lake, I began getting four short alarm sounds about every 3 minutes. If I ran the motor above 4k rpm, the alarm would go off constantly. What does this alarm sequence indicate?
