I have a 2002 mercury 125 salt water .I put the engine in reverse and shut in down.When i started it i had no throttle.When i checked it the ss throttle arm was hanging down it had disconettected from the rear plastic clip.I put it back and it ok until I push the throttle arm all the way forward then the arm pops off every time? HELP

Check to see if any of linkage is binding, probably need to replace clip with a new one.

Watch as you accelerate the arm probably rubs hard against the fuel filter causing the arm to come off. The new filter you buy from mercury is longer then the original and interferes with the arm
