I have a 1988 25hp Mercury motor that has always ran excellent. I was out on the lake yesterday and my two daughters were tubing when suddenly the motor seemed to slip. The motor still moves when I give it about a quarter throttle but does slips when I give it anymore. I have heard about a bushing somewhere inside the prop and wondered if that is a possible solution to the problem. Thank you for your help.

prop
yep - that sounds like you "spun" your prop. Pull the prop off and take it to your local parts guys. They will set you up and check it out.
There is a non metallic / hard rubber bushing in the prop that mates with the output shafts spline that will spin to avoid lower unit damage if you hit something with the prop.
If the prop has any damage to it it may be out of balance too.
