Motorguide wireless steering problem

I have a Motorguide Model 970100080 Serial Number 90025421 24 volt wireless trolling motor. The steering system is Model 8M40000827 Serial Number 062-2. It was built in Mercury Marine Plant (Mexico) #22 on 3-3-2010. The problem I have is the plastic gears within the steering box are about completely wiped out and the motor turns only with the help of my hand on the top of the top cover. I need to find out where I can buy replacement gears to rebuild the box, or where I might purchase a new box if the gears parts are not available.

I couldn't get that serial number to come up. You might need to check with your closest repair center and see if there is any update bulletins on it.
