15 HP mercury Design 1 or Design 2 ???

I have a 1990 15 HP mercury 2 stroke. went to go and order water pump parts. it ask if I had a design 1 or design 2 foot. how can you tell without taking the foot apart I know 1 has shaft kinda behind shifter and 2 is in front of shifter. how can you tell from the outside? Thanks TV65

Order 42089A 5 water pump repair kit, Design I the water pump base has a raised rib and gasket is no longer available, if need to replace that gasket the order 42040A 3 base assemble, design II has a flat surface on plate and new gasket is part number 19204 2
