bearing carrier

I have a 1998 9.9 Bondensee 4 stroke and am replacing the prop shaft seals.The question...How do you remove the bearing carrier?It looks like it screws out as I see no other type of retainer.I made a tool to do this but don't want to put too much pressure on it for fear of breaking something.Am I going in the right direction?

You would need 13664 Mercury special tool to remove it, it's left hand thread. Can call boats.net at 877-408-1587 to order tools.
