Synthetic vs Standard Oil

I have a 2006 Outboard 225 EFI. I currently use standard 2 cycle oil. Should I or can I switch to synthetic oil?

If it's an Opti Max then do need to use the Opti oil.

Synthetic Oil

2001 225 OPTI. I have always used Amsoil HP Injecter 100% Synthetic 2 stroke oil. New iridium spark plugs 6 yrs ago. Still runs perfect!
