4 HP No Spark

I have a 1970? 4 hp #3168610 and I have an intermittent spark issue. How can I test the coil and stator, and are replacement parts still available???

i had the same issue on my 8hp 2 stroke and i tried everything. i finally found a 8hp on craigslist that ran just didnt have the lower unit. i had already replaced the switch box and that didnt work. when i got the spare motor for 100 dollars the guy helped me look at it. he replaced my stator plugs wires and nothing. so he replaced the pickup on the stator and it worked so i would check ebay for a stator and pickup then replace it.
