I have a 2001 mercury 15 hp four stroke non big foot im wanting to no what prop pitch an blade 3 or 4 would be best for getting a 15 ft smokercraft boat on a plane quicker?
also the difference between a 3 blade prop versus a 4 blade prop?

Only way to find right prop is to check max rpm's, that engine should be within 4500-5500 rpm's. The four blades are more for a heavy load like pontoon boats. Check to see if any performance bulletins listed for a boat similar to yours at Mercury Marine

What I am running

I use a Solas 3 blade 9 1/4" x 10"pitch ss it pushes my 14' up to 23 mph!
