2008 115 four stroke Air Filter

I was on the lake Saturday and the motor quit running. Took cover off and seen where the air filter had disintegrated. Both sides were gone. Does that mean it is in the engine and how do I clean it out. I found a new filter for 66.00 on line but I'm worried that the injectors are clogged up or worse. What should I do now?

It can't get in injectors and will pass through engine with no problems.
