00 225 promax electrical issue

Motor runs fine idleing and below 40-50 mph. When running harder around 5000-6000 rpms the engine will lag and then die. The engine will start back up and run fine just not hard. I think i may have a stator going bad but im not 100% sure how to check it or what ohm range that it needs to operate in. Any help would be apprecitated.
