I'm rebuilding my Mercury 150 fuel pump and bought a diaphragm kit part number 42990A 6 here is a link to the diagram and parts page.

The concern I have is the diagram shows two check valve parts for each valve.
One that is black and one that is clear. This is just the way my pump was was built with the two.
The problem is the kit only comes with the clear check valves and you cant buy the black check valve by itself. Does anyone know if you can rebuild the pump with only the clear valve.
