Parts Exchangeable?

Hello all, i have a question that i was hoping someone with experience could answer. I needed a part for my 2011 Mercury Sea Pro 25 and 'MercuryPartsUS' was out of stock on (#853800A02). So I ordered it from a mercury dealer in Canada, but I got instead part # 853800A1. Are both parts pretty much the same? (853800A1 is obsolete and was replaced by 853800A02). Thank you much.

That part should work but it does supersede.
