Stator Test(HELP)

My Regulator caught fire, I would like to test the stator to see I have to replace as well.

Is there a way to test it, to see if it needs to be replaced before I buy parts for the regulator?

The motor is a 2005 Mercury 90HP 2 Storke #1B103001

stator test

look under the flywheel and see if the stator is burnt. The coil wraping should be a redish **** color . if the stator is bad your gonna burn out the regulaters also check your battiers bad or week battries can cuase this to test the stator i belive the two red wires should have no continuity between them i had the same problem i had to replace the stator and regulaters
