1985-86 50 hp mercury 4 cyl serial number A189525. Starts and runs ok but no power. Friend put timing light on each plug wire and only two cylinders getting spark. Was told coil in all likelyhood is ok and Switch box is most likely the problem. Is there any testing we can do to verify before spending $300 for the part? I dont have much experience with motor repair.
