jet drive lubrication

Hello, I just purchased a 2002 mercury 2 stroke 20 hp jet drive motor. I used the rec grease Lubriplate 630-AA. I applied grease until i saw it come out of rubber tube connected to the bell. plugged the tube back into the exposed zert. I looked at the other side of the housing and saw a dollop of grease, thinking I had a cracked housing I wiped off the dollop and observed a very small hole, It almost looks like a very small pressure release hole, Is that what it is or is it damage ie crack, hole etc that needs to be fixed? No grease shouldn't come out anywhere but hose.
