Tower of power 90 stator question

My 80's tower of power 90 Hp mercury. Has an electrical issue that I believe to be the stator. No spark in any plugs. I was wondering if I could change the stator with a 115hp stator that I have of a similar year?

Unless they are same part number on both engines it will not interchange.
