Poppet Upgrade Kit?

Having a problem with occasional overheat at various conditions on my 2000 Optimax 150. In the process of replacing impeller and poppet. I have been reading about an upgrade kit Mercury provides for this problem that changes the hose routing to the T Stats and a different Poppet valve with a by pass hole. Is this true and if so where can I get this kit?

Never mind. After replacing entire water pump(water pump includes all gaskets, plate, slinger etc) engine runs fine. Even though old pump parts looked okay I guess after 2 years the parts just don't do the job. Best policy is replace pump every year.
