Merc 4-hp 4-stroke jets

Can I substitute the standard main jet (#60) on a Merc 4-hp 4-stroke outboard with the main jet (#65) called for on a Merc 5-hp engine? Also, can I substitute the standard 4-hp pitot jet (#40) with the pilot jet (#42) called for on a 5-hp engine? The reason I want to do this is so that the jets will be somewhat less likely to get gummed up due to the larger sizes. However, I want to make sure the 4-hp engine will still run well with the larger jet sizes.

Chances are it will run too rich, but they should fit.

Just a thought

You want bigger jets? Put the carb off a 6hp on it, you get bigger jets yet, and 2 more hp. I did it, works great.
