I recently bought an 18 foot boat with a Mercury 950 “Thunderbolt” with electronic ignition.
The motor had a small flash fire where the wires connecting to the Switchbox got a little toasty.
I replaced the wires, and although there is no obvious damage to the switchbox I am obligated to believe it is bad. I copied down the serial number and bought a switchbox… wrong one! The one it calls for doesn’t even look close to the original off the motor. Anyone have any suggestions?
