Just purchased used Boston Whaler with above outboard. Engine started fine with electric start the first time. Second time engine would not turn over. Trickle charged battery overnight and the next day starter whould spin, but not come up and engage. Took boat out for first test run on the weekend using the pull cord to start with out problem. When flushing with the muffs on return, I could not pull the start cord. Locked solid. Played with the gear leavers a few times and was able to hand start. Do you have any ideas. My thinking is that the shifter is not always engaging the manual starter and that maybe this condition occurred when I tried to electric start and possibly damaged the starter??
