1999 50 hp Outboard

Recently bought a 17 Key West with a 1999 50 hp 4-stroke ,at least I was told it was a 1999,I would like to know the location of the serial number on this motor

Serial number is located on a tag on the starboard side, would have a number, then letter, then series of numbers. If tag is missing, there is a freeze plug on block with the serial number stamped in it.
