Hi,
I have a 1990 75hp Merc 3 cyl oil inj.
When I turn the key from "off" to "on", the self-check beep goes off, then it changes pitch a bit and stays on continuously - as if it's the overheat alarm. This is with the motor not even being on! Is this a bad temp sensor, or bad alarm?
Does the heat sensor ground to the block?
