Hi Guys... I have an old merc 650 and the lower unit is taking on water. The seal surface on the drive shaft is rusted and pitted. I took the drive shaft to the machine shop and they're going to turn it and cut it down, weld (build it back up) and cut it and polish it to specs. Long story short, I have the lower unit torn down and want to replace anything that is worn excessively. The prop shaft needle bearing surface is worn .01" compared to the rest of the shaft...is this excessive wear? I was planing on replacing all of the prop shaft bearings. Do I need a new Prop Shaft? Thanks Kernal
