Hi - I have a 2002 225HP Opti on a 21' boat with a dry weight (w/o engine) of about 2500 pounds. It has a 19" pitch Mirage Plus prop. The engine idles fine and delivers strong acceleration from approximately 3000 rpm to WOT. But, the engine seems wimpy between idle and around 3000 rpm. In fact, the boat will not even hold plane under approximately 3000 rpm. I have owned this boat for only one season, so I do not know if this is normal or if I should expect better low end performance. Any comments or suggestions?

You have the computer diagnosed, this will tell you if there are any readable problems. The pitch does not seem abnormally large. May just need a tune up.
