  • 2010 Merc 150 optimax oil issue

Hi everyone. New to the forum an a new boat owner. Just picked up a used tracker tournament v18 with a Merc 150 optimax. The previous owner failed to tell me the gas cap was broken an not sealing correctly. First trip out coming off of plane water got into the tank. Set of the alarm. I took the filter off, drained the system an put some marine water remover in the gas. That problem is fixed but brought up another issue. The little tank in the motor for the oil have what appears to be a return line to the tank in the boat. I'm not sure if I pulled a line off when pulling the fuel filter but right below the tank I have a brass T fitting. The bottom has no hose on it. Is there a line missing or is this something the previous owner did? Any help would be amazing!
    Thank you.

Ps I will try to upload a picture of the fitting later tonight.

That might just be a vent hose. What is the serial number?

That motor is still under warranty, I recommend taking to a local Mercury dealer and have this problem sorted out.
