Restoring an old 25hp

I've been restoring a 1986 25hp that has been out of service since 1992. The new water pump is on and I'd like to see if it will run before I rebuild the carb. I don't want to rebuild it if I don't have to. My question is what is the gas-oil ratio. Back in 92 it was 16-1 but I don't know if that still holds true with the new oils. By the way thanks for the fast service on the parts I bought from you.
