I have a 2003 Mercury 90 HP (3 cyl) ELPTO, Model 1090412AD. The throttle/shift contol has a push button at the pivot point of the handle to allow advancing the throttle without shifting the motor into gear. Push the button in to deactivate the shifter, go back to the neutral throttle position, the button pops back out and the shifter is activated as the throttle handle is moved forward/reverse. This button no longer pops back out and the motor will not shift into forward/reverse when advancing the throttle. The power tilt rocker switch is mounted at the inboard top of the throttle handle (it works fine as does the throttle advance mechanism--Just no shift. The motor only has a few hours on it, but the shifter part of the throttle control has always been a bit of a problem. Since the cables are all in great shape, can the throttle control box be disassembled and serviced with new parts, as necessary?? Thanks!!
