Helllo,
I have a Merc 402 serial number 5041698 (not sure the year, 1978?). I just purchased a new reverse locking cam because the old one was shredded. I clean out/blew out all debris. Now how do I know which direction the cam faces on the lower shift shaft. That is, looking down at the shaft, if forward is 12:00, what hour should the cam face? I removed the lower unit in neutral. Any help would be appreciated!
