1985 black max 175 plumbling

i have a 1985 mercury black max 175 and i am wondering if the water hoses are hooked up right. this is what i have left head t-stat housing hose jumps to right t-stat housing then turn down and goes to the poppet valve. on the left side of the motor there is a nipple that comes out and goes to the tell tale. not sure if it is suppose to be like this thought the hoses coming from heads need to go out the tell tale hole along with the poppet valve nipple. any help would be greatly appreciated.
