  • merc. ignition problem

got an Mercury igniton I'm having problems with. Last year motor would run good then start missing. next day might work good might not. started this year and worked great for many outings.parked it one day and since then no spark on any cylinder. Downloaded CDI Electronics Mercury Troubleshooting sheet. started going through the steps of checking out problems. I don't have a DVA but checked volts and ohms with what I had.

These readings are with stator wires connected to rectifier
RED to Red/wht 149.6 ohms, 0 volts... BLUE to Blue/wht reads open(no reading) 2.6 mv
Readings do not change with stator wires disconnected from rectifier.
    pack is P/n 332-5772a-1

Can you tell anything from these readings?

Are these tests to be performed with all wiring connected as usual or am I suppose to isolate each item before testing. (ie.. remove blue,blue/wht,red ect.. from pack before taking readings?)

    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know what motor you have.
Rectifier is not part of ignition circuit, need to test stator high and low speed output to switch box, trigger coil output and switch box output to ignition coil with a peak reading voltmeter or DVA with wires connected to find failed component.
