  • No spark and ignition switch

2000 25hp mercury electric start with pull start. Can the switch being wired wrong cause it to not have any spark to the plugs Six prong switch- #1 &#2 are black grounds from the harness, #3 is just a wire jumpered from #2prong,
#4 is the hot from harness, #5 is yellow with black stripe going to the starter silenoid.#6 is purple and goes to the spitter under console. Diagrams I see on web have a wire to magneto. I cannot get switch to work, I can jumper hot wire behind switch to yellow with red stripe and turn starter. but it does not appear to have any spark at plugs

Thanks for any help you could give me.

Try changing the ignition switch. There should be 1 power (full time), 1 power (when on), 1 power (in start), 1 choke.

      ignition

Thanks for the reply, A guy I work with told me that the harness should have
      1 red power from battery,
2 yellow with red stripe that goes to the silenoid
      3 purple accessorie
      4 black ground from battery
5 black from switch going to the motor
So I'm going to replace the switch now I have to figure out where to wire in the kill switch.
If anyone sees that this is wrong please let me know. To some this is easy but I am electrically challenged
      Thanks again
