2005 60HP, rev limit module

Hi,
We just got a used pontoon boat with the 60 HP bigfoot Mercury. The alarm goes off when it is over 3000 RPM, and the dealer said it's the rev limiter module. Apparently this part is backordered, and my question is, is this a part I can install so I can bring the boat home and play, or beyond the level of a DIY project? Thanks!

That is just a plug and play module, you should be able to repair yourself.
