I need to find a new prop for my 1974 mercury 20 horse outboard, the rubber hub in the center of the one that was on it when I bought it several years ago, no longer is any good . I need a new prop or need to know if you can tell me a place that rebuilds them.The serial number on the engine is 3880139, model 200, 2 cyc., Ignition type IV, Carbureator type B.
The old prop that is not good is a Black Alum. 8 spline, 3 blade prop. it is 11" pitch with a diam. of about 9 3/4" the hub is 3" dia in the front and tapers to 2 5/8" in the rear it measures 4 1/8" front to back. The exhaust does not exit through the prop hub it exits higher up on the engin shaft.
Stamped on the hub of the old prop is 48-86962-9, I think, it is very hard to read, on the out side, also hard to read is 9p 44.
Hope someone can help me find a place to get the old one rebuilt or to purchase a new one.
