1997 60HP Bigfoot-Lower Unit Issues

Greetings. I am new to this site. I have a 1997 Mercury 60HP Bigfoot ELPTO motor, Serial# 0G514932 . This past weekend, we lost reverse. A friend/mechanic dropped the lower unit for me, looked at the gears/dogs and told me they are worn. He also said a gear up in the nose was also worn. As far as I can tell, I have 3 options. 1st- buy a reman/new OEM lower unit, 2nd- try and find, then buy a used lower unit or buy the parts i need. Reman/New OEM is pretty much out of my budget, not real excited about buying used, nor can i find one which leaves buying the parts. I had a new water pump put in last year and new top end done also. Will not go back to the shop that did the work last year on my water pump/top end (long story) and my best/only option at this point is to rely on my friend/mechanic. Can you recommend the parts that I should replace from describing above along with part numbers if I were to purchase parts? I want to make sure I buy correct parts to send to my friend up North. I also want to make sure I buy all parts needed to ensure no problems in forseeable future. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to comment or email me at cas@rotra.com . I recommend having your friend create the parts list as I am uncertain exactly which parts he needs other than the gear and clutch dog. The following link is for you motor.

Do you sell remanufactured and or new complete lower units for my 1997 Merc 60HP Bigfoot motor?

Also can you tell me know I can tell if I have a 3 jaw or 6 jaw clutch?
